Actress and comedian Myra DuBois (the comic creation of Gareth Joyner) is joining the cast of the film adaptation of the West End smash “Everybody's Talking About Jamie” starring Richard E Grant and Sharon Horgan. While sworn to secrecy about the details, Myra can promise her part to be “very important. Integral to the plot actually. Why they've not called it 'Everybody's Talking about Myra' I don't know but anyway I'm in it”.
Myra is scheduled to play the Edinburgh Fringe this year for the duration of August, but will be nipping over to Sheffield on 22nd and 23rd August for a two day filming stint, before returning to Scotland to complete her run.
Having left her native South Yorkshire back in 2008 for the bright lights of London’s burlesque clubs and gay bars, Myra has sold out solo shows at venues including Charing Cross Theatre, Leicester Square Theatre, the Clapham Grand, Underbelly Southbank Festival and the legendary Royal Vauxhall Tavern to name a few. Accolades include shortlisted for ‘Best Character or Improv’ at the 2019 Chortle Awards, “bust a gut funny” according to Graham Norton and “hilarious” if you ask John Bishop. Myra also counts Rylan Clark and Christine Bianco amongst fans and Sir Tim Rice said Myra's rendition of his song ‘I Know Him So Well’ was "Definitive".
TV credits include BBC1’s The John Bishop Show and most recently as regular panellist on C5’s Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side. Myra was asked to join the latest esteemed line-up of guests for ‘Un-Royal Variety’ at The Hackney Empire and ‘All Star Brexit Cabaret’ at London Coliseum, both hosted and curated by London cabaret legend Johnny Woo. She has also been announced to perform at Latitude Festival this July.
