News: More Toast For Matt Berry – When He Has Time

It looks like there will hopefully be a fourth series of Toast of London. Matt Berry just needs to find the time to write it.

Berry was talking to The Guardian to promote his forthcoming Victorian crime comedy Year of the Rabbit.

The feature says: "Berry is planning a fourth series of Toast of London. He’s just not sure when he’ll have time to write it." He currently has a major commitment to the TV series What We Do In The Shadows, which means living and working in America for three months a year.

Berry explained in the interview why he was still drawn to deluded actor Steven Toast, which he writes with Arthur Mathews: "Because he’s the anti-me. I wrote him because I met so many actors who are utterly vicious about other actors – always frustrated, bitter and cynical. I’m not. I’m doing all the things I ever wanted. More than I ever imagined. I never dreamed of being a comedian. I never imagined I’d be a clown. There aren’t enough hours in the day. But otherwise I’m living the life I wanted.”

Year of the Rabbit starts on C4 on June 10 at 10pm.
