News: Kurupt FM To Release New Series Exclusive To Audible

News: British Podcast Awards Results
MC Grindah, DJ Beats, DJ Steves and Chabuddy G, the stars of BBC’s BAFTA and RTS-winning  People Just Do Nothing, will launch a brand new podcast, exclusively on Audible this summer. Known world-wide for their iconic pirate radio station, club nights and festival appearances, Kurupt FM’s new podcast, aptly named The Kurupt FM Podkast, will feature guest appearances from Michelle (Lily Brazier, People Just Do Nothing,  Juliet, NakedWannabe ), Celeste Dring (This CountryThe Windsors ) and Mark Silcox (RoversMan Like Mobeen) amongst others.

With a TV series celebrated as “a sublime and rightly award-winning comedy” (Independent), “absolutely of its time” (Telegraph), “every episode is more hilarious, and more harrowing” (Guardian), “Spectacular” (GQ), the podcast sees Kurupt FM debut their late-night talk show.

In between beats and bars, the boys hold forth on a range of topics including technology, relationships, survival, fashion and the supernatural. The Kurupt FM Podkast sees the crew take calls, welcome drop-in guests, run DIY ads, give shout outs and offer all-manner of life advice to listeners. Amongst others, fans will get to hear about Steves’ plan for how to survive feral living in Richmond Park; will get the low down on MC Grindah’s new design for the sofa of the future; and will hear the boys crack the case of Brentford Studio’s biggest mystery.

MC Grindah, head of Kurupt FM, said: “This is what you've all been waiting for, a podcast that's actually good, not just one that weird freaks in suits listen to on the train!”

Chabuddy G, manager of Kurupt FM, said: “I can't believe these idiots. Paying just to hear us chat. I didn't even get changed, I recorded most of the podcast in my boxers mate!”

The Kurupt FM Podkast  joins a host of award-winning, original comedy podcasts released by Audible in recent months. Other notable highlights include Mark Watson’s Comedy Marathon  (ShortList: “Excellent”), Sue Perkins’ Earpedia  (Sunday Times: “Animal heaven”),  Nick Offerman’s Bedtime Stories For Cynics  (People: “The closest we’ll ever get to achieving our longtime fantasy of Ron Swanson telling us bedtime stories”), Dom Joly’s Big American Vacation (Buzzfeed: “Hilarious”) and Audible Presents, Live From The Edinburgh Fringe amongst others.

Audible members can listen to The Kurupt FM Podkast for free as part of their membership. Non-members can listen free with a 30-day trial at www.audible.co.uk/podcasts . Harriet Poland, Commissioning Editor at Audible, secured world English language audio rights for The Kurupt FM Podkast an Audible Original, from Alice Lutyens of Curtis Brown.
