Comedian Louis CK is to play two shows in the UK later this month.

The stand-up star will play two small gigs both in West Yorkshire. At Leeds Hi-Fi Club on Wednesday 22nd May at 7pm and Leeds Wardrobe on Thursday 23rd May  at 7.30pm.

CK has not played any high profile shows since stories emerged that he had masturbated in front of women. He issued a statement at the time after the New York Times broke the story in November 2017. But he has recently started to perform again, appearing in clubs. He is about to do six shows at Zanies in Nashville.

His appearances have prompted criticism. When he appeared at the Comedy Cellar in New York where he had played in the past, owner Noam Dworman responded to criticism and was reported to have said. “I understand that some people will be upset with me. I care about my customers very much. Every complaint goes through me like a knife. And I care about doing the right thing.” But he added, “there can’t be a permanent life sentence on someone who does something wrong.”

The six-time Emmy Award winner has released over eight stand up specials including Shameless, Chewed Up, Hilarious, Word - Live at Carnegie Hall (audio), Live at the Beacon Theater, Oh My God, Live at the Comedy Store, and most recently Louis C.K. 2017. Louis is the creator, writer, director, and star of the Peabody Award winning shows Louie and Horace and Pete. In January 2015, he became the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden three times for the same tour.
