Speechless, the American sitcom that aired on E4 in the UK, has been cancelled.

Driver broke the news on social media: "Speechless has been cancelled and it feels rather sad. However, I truly believe we have left this conversation about family, disability and love in a better place than we found it. I love all the people I worked with on it, and all of you who loved our show too x"

Fans expressed their sadnesson Twitter. Jason McCoy tweeted: "@Netflix or @hulu or even another network MUST #SaveSpeechless - how could they cancel one of the best shows on TV?!?"

Kate Breen wrote: "The show was awesome! So bummed."

Over three seasons Driver played Maya DiMeo, a mom who will do anything for her husband, Jimmy (John Ross Bowie), and kids Ray (Mason Cook), Dylan (Kyla Kenedy), and JJ (Micah Fowler), her eldest son who has cerebral palsy.

In season one the family worked to make a new home for themselves, and search for just the right person to give JJ his "voice." In the second season, it’s the start of a new school year and the DiMeos, who have always been on the search to find the right school support for JJ, are faced with a new and unfamiliar reality… the DiMeo kids are going to continue at the same school!

Scott Silveri (Friends) wrote and was executive producer of the show, along with Fresh Off the Boat's Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar. The series is from Twentieth Century Fox Television.
