News: Harry Hill launches Fairtrade Fortnight at Secret Hot Chocolate Salon

Comedian Harry Hill has taken part in the opening of Rosine’s Hot Chocolate Salon, a secret* pop-up experience created by Fairtrade Fortnight to mark the launch of the #SheDeserves campaign, in London, 25th February – 3rd March 2019.

This year’s Fairtrade Fortnight campaign aims to establish a living income for women cocoa growers in West Africa. Three different hot chocolate recipes feature on the menu, which have been created by the celebrity chefs, and named after real cocoa farmers from West Africa and priced at £1.86 – the cost of a day’s living income. All money raised by the salon will help fund programmes such as the Women’s School of Leadership in Côte d’Ivoire.  Photo credit should read: David Parry.

Harry Hill said: “I’ve been a supporter of Fairtrade for more than ten years and have visited Fairtrade banana and cocoa farmers in Ghana as well as Fairtrade peanut farmers in Malawi. I've seen how Fairtrade works and how easy it is to help change people's lives just by choosing products which carry the Fairtrade mark when we shop. This year I’m behind Fairtrade Fortnight #SheDeserves 100%”
