News: QI Asks Fans To GetFact

QI launches getfact game

Following Qiktionary, QI Ltd’s first foray into mobile gaming, this week sees the creators of BBC2’s QI release mobile phone game GetFact globally in the Apple iOS AppStore.

GetFact features thousands of incomplete facts. For each fact, players are invited to reveal missing words aided and distracted by tempting red herrings, hint buttons, bonus facts, and a series of experience levels ranging from amoeba and housefly to orca, raccoon and butterfly.

John Lloyd CBE, QI creator, comments: "Everyone should be a bit more QI.  ‘GetFact’ allows you to be a bit more QI on your phone. It’s free to play, often funny and occasionally tricky. There’s really no excuse not to."

Alex Johnston, co-founder of development partner ‘Four Letter Works’, added: "‘GetFact’ marks another frontier breached in QI’s crusade to make the world a more interesting place filled with more curious people. Our game apps reconfigure the content that works for TV and publishing for a generation whose closest companion is their personal mobile device. . ‘GetFact’ is a kind of thinking person’s ‘Candy Crush’ with plenty of QI quirks to keep players interested … and interesting."

The global launch of GetFact will be promoted via a digital advertising campaign on Instagram supported by regular posting on QI’s social media feeds and podcasts.

GetFact is available globally now.
