News: Bafta Nominations for Steve Coogan & Olivia Colman

Steve Coogan has received a BAFTA Best Actor nomination for his portrayal of Stan Laurel in the Laurel and Hardy biopic Stan & Ollie. Olivia Colman has received a nomination in the Best Actress* category for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite.

Coogan is due to return to the BBC in 2019 as Alan Partridge in the new series, This Time With Alan Partridge. Olivia Colman, who just won a Golden Globe for her role in The Favourite, can currently be seen in the BBC version of Les Miserables.

Elsewhere The Blue Door, directed by Paul Taylor, written by Ben Clark of Pappy's and Megan Pugh and starring Janie Booth, Annie McGrath and Gemma Whelan, has received a BAFTA nomination for Best British Short Film.

The BAFTA results will be announced on Sunday, 10 February.
