News: Regular Major Comedy Night Launched At Hackney Empire

The Hackney Empire is launching a new stand-up night featuring the top names in comedy in January.

The regular Live at the Empire shows are being putting on by Show And Tell. The first night, on Saturday, January 26, will feature James Acaster, Tim Key, Milton Jones, Lolly Adefope and John Robins. Acaster has recently received an unprecedent collection of five star reviews for his latest show Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999.

Joining Acaster are performances from the Edinburgh Comedy Award winning comic/poet, Alan Partridge co-star, Radio 4 star and more, Tim Key; Mock The Week one-liner man Milton Jones and Lolly Adefope, the acclaimed character comic and swiftly-rising actor from C4’s Damned and now making significant waves in US television and movies.

Hosting the night is Edinburgh Comedy Award winner, Radio X co-host, Live at the Apollo star and self-styled vibe magnet John Robins.

This follows the announcement that The Hackney Empire has asked New Variety Lives, the producers of The NATYS: New Acts of the Year, to return to its historic home and present its annual show on Saturday 2 February 2019.
