News: British Comic Broadbent Heads To (Off) Broadway

Fresh from a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, comedian and award-winning songwriter Tamar Broadbent is making her New York debut with Best Life, a hilarious musical comedy about ambition, anxiety and avocados.

Best Life, which runs 7-16 December at Soho Playhouse in New York, uses an innovative mix of traditional stand-up, original songs, and some sage advice from Tamar's 95-year-old Grandmother Joan, to explore what success means in the modern world and asks if the goals we set are truly our own or are what we fear they should be.

Tamar’s own life plan was simple: 1) Find dream job; 2) Change the world; 3) Go for brunch. Now she’s broke, overwhelmed by options, in a complicated relationship with Netflix, and can occasionally be found drunkenly shouting ‘Is it too much to ask for everything?!’ at a bin.

In a world fuelled by Instagram, feminism and fuck boys…, Tamar asks, ‘how do you know if you are living your best life?’
