News: "Comedy good. Organisation terrible" Mixed Reviews For Comedy Central Festival

Comedy fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment about this weekend's Comedy Central Live event in Southampton.

Nobody could fault the line-up that included Katherine Ryan, Jimmy Carr, Rob Delaney and Joel Dommett. Or the discounted ticket price of £20. But once fans had entered the area it transpired that free tickets had to be acquired to gain entry to some of the gigs. This reportedly created organisational issues and also disappointment among fans who were not able to see the acts they wanted to see, such as Russell Howard.

It probably didn't help that while the weather was sunny on Friday it was more gloomy on Saturday.

Dixie G tweeted: "I have to say you have a bizarre way of doing things no doubt there was plenty of unintended comedy in the ticket system today. I spent half the afternoon queuing but lucky for you I laughed for the other half of the day/night! Ps Loved "

Dixie G also posted a picture of the queue for free gig tickets and added: "Very disappointing specially if you didn’t get tickets for the main stage. Such a stupid system."

Paul Wyse wrote: "Terribly organised. Most of the day in a Q to get in, then Q to get tickets to the tent, then a Q to get into tent. Tickets released at different times to advertised. repeated half the material from his early set in his later one. Comedy good. Organisation terrible"

Jack Evans wrote: " comedy show. Absolutely disgusting having to que for hours to be told no tickets!! What was the point in paying £20.00 for admission to stand in a field in the rain. I want my money back!"

Ben Davies was one of the fans who bought tickets via Groupon: " Bought tickets to the Southampton through you but the event is a shambles. Anything we can do to get a refund? 2x tickets bought but all comedy sold out so nothing to see or do for £20. Please help!"

Natasha Bates said: "What a shambles @comedycentrallive is! Don’t come waste of time"

Steve Willis was more succinct: "Comedy Central Southampton. Real rip off bag of shite"
