News: John Bishop Releases Live DVD

Following the huge success of his ‘Winging It’ UK tour, John Bishop's stand-up show is to be released on DVD, Blu-ray and digital on 19 November 2018 from Lola Entertainment and Spirit Entertainment. The show was filmed at the iconic London Palladium earlier this year.

John’s first live tour in over three years covered all areas of the UK & Ireland and was initially planned for a huge 51-date run in 2017, until a further 26 shows were added due to phenomenal demand. The tour was seen by over 500,000 people and a tradition of standing ovations long continued throughout the six month run.

John said: “The reaction to the show at the end of every night was fantastic, touring ‘Winging It’ across the UK was absolutely brilliant and the demand for more shows blew me away. I’m thrilled that I’m able to release this show for all to see.”

‘Winging It’ saw John back on stage for his fifth UK tour, performing in his own inimitable style. His first tour was the ‘Elvis Has Left The Building’ show in 2010, for which he was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award, followed by the ‘Sunshine Tour’ in 2011. John’s 2012 ‘Rollercoaster’ was another sell out and received huge critical acclaim. His fourth tour, ‘Supersonic’, was watched by more than 500,000 people.  This show was subsequently recorded for DVD release at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

John Bishop has had an incredible career. Within three years of his first ever comedy gig, John was playing to sold out arena audiences across the country and released the fastest selling stand-up DVD in UK history.

He has achieved huge success with a number of his own comedy, entertainment and documentary shows including ‘John Bishop’s Australia’ (BBC1), ‘John Bishop’s Britain’ (BBC1), ‘John Bishop’s Only Joking’ (Sky1), ‘The John Bishop Show’ (BBC1), ‘The John Bishop Christmas Show’ (BBC1) and ‘John Bishop’s Gorilla Adventure’ (ITV1).

Towards the end of 2016, John turned his hand to something completely different – interviewing.  A new series called ‘John Bishop: In Conversation With…’ has seen him chatting, one on one, with some of the UK’s biggest names from the world of entertainment, sport and music. Guests included Dame Joan Collins, Cuba Gooding Jr, John Cleese, Kirsty Young, Steve Coogan, Jeremy Corbyn and more, to discover the people behind the public persona, in intimate and revealing one hour interviews on the W Channel. The fourth series in less than two years has just finished airing.
