Comedy Central UK has commissioned a brand new series of Comedy Central Specials, featuring some of the UK’s brightest comedy stars; Iain Stirling , Desiree Burch, Luisa Omielan, Fin Taylor, Darren Harriott, Kiri Pritchard-Mclean, Tez Ilyas, Stephen Bailey and Sofie Hagen.

The 9 x 22 minute series of live specials will be filmed in Camden this October and will air next Spring on Comedy Central UK. Each episode will be dedicated to one comedians’ live stand up performance. 

“We always look forward to filming live stand up and capturing the very best performances on the circuit right now,” Louise Holmes, Vice President, General Manager, Comedy Central UK commented. “This series forms part of our ongoing commitment to identifying and developing the future stars of live comedy and stand-up – and we have a truly fantastic and diverse line up of talent on board.”

The announcement underlines Comedy Central UK’s ongoing push to diversify its British comedy offering and increase the volume of non-scripted comedy it broadcasts, all of which has helped to drive the channel to its current position of the #3 non-terrestrial entertainment channel in the UK for 1634s. The channel recently announced that Roast Battle UK has been commissioned for a third series ( Fulwell 73 and IDEASATRON) whilst a pilot for AMusical (Burning Bright) the TV version of live comedy hit Amusical, will air later this year on the channel.
