News: Detectorists Wins Rose D'Or For Best Sitcom

Detectorists has won the Rose D'Or for Best Sitcom.

The series, starring Mackenzie Crok and Toby Jones and written and directed by Crook was one of a number of British winners on the night.

A Very English Scandal, about Jeremy Thorpe and starring Hugh Grant, won best limited series and TV movie. 

And Joanna Lumley was given a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Netflix series The Crown was the other big winner, scooping Best Drama Series.

Diane Morgan, alias Philomena Cunk, had also been nominated for an award for Cunk on Britian, and had a last minute race to get to the ceremony in Berlin after her passport was stolen and she had a day to get a new one. The other sitcom nominees were The Windsors and The Young Offenders.
