News: Mo Gilligan To Co-Host Awards Show

Comedian Mo Gilligan is to co-host the KA & GRM Daily Rated 2018 Awards show.

The awards show, co-hosted by broadcaster Julie Adenuga, is back for its fourth year on Tuesday 4th September at the Eventim Apollo in London.

Channel 4 will live stream the event, which is the biggest celebration in the British urban music scene, on the night from their Channel 4 YouTube and Facebook pages. The awards show will feature live performances from some of the biggest and brightest names in music, as well as revealing the winners who will take home the KA and GRM Daily Rated Awards trophies.

Channel 4 will also broadcast a highlights programme on Friday 7th September at 11:05pm. This will be followed immediately by an exclusive package filled with performances and behind the scenes action from the night, both of which will be available on All 4.

Featured among the list of nominees are Gilligan himself and Big Narstie of The Big Narstie Show.

Thom Gulseven, Commissioning Editor, Channel 4 says, “I’ve been a big fan of Rated for a while, it’s such a great celebration of music and culture in the UK. I’m so happy we’re able to work with GRM Daily and Renowned to give it another new home on Channel 4 and All 4.”

Koby "Posty" Hagan, GRM Daily and Awards Co-Founder says, “Following a hugely important year for grime and the UK music scene, the iconic KA & GRM Daily Rated Awards are back to celebrate the best in UK music. It’s going to be an epic event and I can’t wait to bring it to a wider audience with C4.”

Duane Jones, Executive Producer, Renowned Films says, “For a long time there’s been a huge disconnect between the youth audience and award ceremonies. We at Renowned are very proud to be producing the Rated Awards, the most authentic award ceremony of this generation, which will finally bridge that gap. This is 100% a game changer.”

Fans are able to vote for their winners via the GRM Daily website here.
