News: Comedian Makes Writing Award Longlist

Comedian Nat Luurtsema has made the longlist for the Pin Drop Short Story Award 2018.

Her short story, Howling Pack of Undesirables, is one of fifteen chosen from an unprecedented number of entries.

Luurtsema has been a regular performer on the comedy circuit and the Edinburgh Festival, appearing in both solo shows and as part of the sketch group Jigsaw.

Now in its fourth year, the Pin Drop Short Story Award is an annual non-profit, open-submission writing prize, staged by Pin Drop in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Arts.  It offers a platform for new writing open to published and unpublished writers from anywhere across the globe to showcase their short fiction. Past winners include Bethan Roberts, Claire Fuller and Cherise Saywell.

The winner will be announced by Gwendoline Christie, best known for portraying the warrior Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones on 11th July at a ceremony at the Royal Academy.
