BBC Radio 1 is to launch a new comedy podcast starring rising offbeat comic Andy Field.  The Andy Field Experience is a fast-paced and surreal sketch podcast "for a new generation of comedy fans" (though presumably an old generation of comedy fan will be permitted to listen to it).. 

Written and hosted by the Chortle Student Award Winner and BBC New Comedy Finalist, each episode packs in over 30 sketches in 30 minutes.  The weird and wonderful segments include Rowboat Cop, who's like Robocop but he's in a rowboat; Danny Dyer, who's looking for dangerous places to leave his breadsticks; and Humpty Dumpty, who takes umbrage at not being addressed by his real name. 

Produced by Lianne Coop for Impatient Productions, the series also features comedians Helen Bauer, Huge Davies, Tamsyn Kelly and Martin Willis among others.

The Andy Field Experience will be available to download from June 4 and will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 on Fridays at 03:00 (yes, that’s 3am). Listen to a preview now and download from June 4 here.
