News: Chortle Comedy Awards – Nominees Announced

Katherine Ryan, Richard Herring, Mae Martin, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Joseph Morpurgo and Rob Kemp have all been nominated for two Chortle awards. 
 
Ryan is up for best tour and best TV comedian, while Herring is up for the internet award for his Leicester Square Theatre Podcast and the book award for his Emergency Questions from that show.
 
Martin is the running for the radio show and breakthrough act;  Pritchard-McLean is up for best compere and club comedian; Morpurgo is up for the character, sketch improv award and best show for Hammerhead; and Kemp is up for best newcomer and best musical and variety act for his Elvis Dead show.
 
Other nominees include Ricky Gervais, Greg Davies, Reeves & Mortimer, Joel Dommett, Romesh Ranganathan, Joe Lycett and Hannah Gadsby. The TV category is between Inside No. 9, Detectorists, GameFace and Motherland.
 
The shortlist was compiled by a panel of critics and bookers. The final decision is down to a public vote. Polls close at 4pm on February 14. You can vote here
