The Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special was the most viewed television programme on Christmas Day.

6.8 million viewers – 32.6% of the TV-watching public – watched the special edition of the hit sitcom starring Brendan O'Carroll and various members of his real-life family.

The episode also featured a regenerated Rory as actor Rory Cowan, who played Agnes' perma-corpsing son, has now left the series. He has been replaced by Damien McKiernan.
