News: UK Tour For Alun Cochrane

Award-winning comedian Alun Cochrane will tour his new show Alunish Cochranish in the new year, returning to the stage with his grumpy-joyful, silly-serious stand-up, deploying jokes, ideas and (possibly) movement for the amusement of audiences around the country.  Beginning at Bradford’s Alhambra Theatre on 31st January, the tour will see Alun perform at thirty-two venues across the UK, including London’s Leicester Square Theatre on 2nd March.

Alun is a regular presenter on Absolute Radio’s Sony, ARIA and Radio Academy Award-winning The Frank Skinner Show, and his extensive TV and radio credits include some of the biggest shows in British comedy, such as Room 101 (BBC One), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), Mock the Week(BBC Two), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled (Dave), The Now Show (BBC Radio 4) and Just a Minute (BBC Radio 4).  He has acted in shows including Coronation Street (ITV), Boomers (BBC One), Hospital People (BBC One) and Russell Howard’s feature-length Christmas special A Gert Lush Christmas (BBC Two).  Alun has also written and starred in Alun Cochrane’s Fun House for BBC Radio 4, which saw him take listeners on a room by room stand-up tour of his house.

As well as completing several nationwide tours, Alun has taken eleven solo stand-up shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  His debut Fringe show, My Favourite Words in My Best Stories, was nominated for the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer, and his award wins include the Writer’s Guild Award for Comedy, and Chortle Awards for Best Breakthrough Act and Best Compere.
