News: WiFi Wars Goes Live for Charity With Entire Go 8 Bit Line-Up

The stars of television's Go 8 Bit are to appear live onstage together for the first time in a WiFi Wars special.

On Wednesday 20th December the Go 8 Bit gang are going to appear together to raise money for The Royal Institution, the Miscarriage Association and the Alzheimer's Society.

Sam Pamphilon, Ellie Gibson and Dara O Briain will all be guests at Steve McNeil’s “WiFi Wars Christmas Bash” show at the Royal Institution. Steve Mould from Festival of the Spoken Nerd will also be there, performing a special guest set.

WiFi Wars was developed by Go 8 Bit’s technical manager, Rob Sedgebeer - it allows the entire audience to compete against each other, and in teams, on a series of video games and quizzes beamed into their smartphones. Last year, the show broke the Guinness World Record for Most People to play a Single Game of Pong.

The show will also be happening on Tuesday 19th December at the same venue, with Sam Pamphilon competing against comedian Bec Hill. The show will feature entirely different games and quizzes each night, and tickets for both are available here: http://www.rigb.org/whats-on/events-2017/december/public-the-wifi-wars-royal-institution-christmas-copy

The last time someone did two consecutive nights at the Royal Institution was Nikola Tesla in 1892. As Steve puts it, "Rob Sedgebeer is very clever. I will also be there, but mostly just shouting. I’m essentially hype man for a nerd”.
