News: Scottish Comedian of the Year 2017 – Results

The winner of this year's Scottish Comedian of the Year crown has been announced this evening.

The final took place in Glasgow at the Rotunda Comedy Club and was compered by Love Island voiceover star Iain Stirling.

The victorious comedian gets the opportunity to perform a five-week stint at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in Australia. Finalists in the competition will also appear in a showcase of Scottish comedy talent at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. 

And the winner is Leo Kearse, a runner-up in 2016 and also the 2015 UK Pun Champion. Stephen Buchanan was 2nd and Stuart MacPherson was 3rd.

Donald Alexander (Edinburgh) - Best Newcomer Scottish Comedy Awards 2017

Kirsty Morrison (Millport) - Best New Comedian nominee 2016 Scottish Variety Awards

Marc Jennings (Clydebank) - SCOTY finalist 2016

Ross Leslie (Rosyth) - SCOTY finalist 2014

Sébastien Dall’Ozzo (PARIS FRANCE) - French comedian living in Edinburgh
