News: Arena Show For Trevor Noah

Award-winning stand-up Trevor Noah, the host of the Emmy® Award-winning The Daily Show in the States, will be returning to the UK next year for one night only at London’s O2 Arena, on Saturday 19th May 2018.

The South African comic’s first ever UK arena show will also be the first time in two and a half years that Noah has performed in the UK, following a two-night sell out run at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo in December 2015.

On returning to the UK in May 2018, Noah said: “A lot has happened for me in the two years since I last performed in the UK, and by the looks of things quite a lot has been happening there too! Brexit has inspired everybody else to go and screw up their own countries, a baby interrupting a BBC News interview gave us the greatest moment in the history of television, ever, and Jeremy Corbyn played Glastonbury. I can’t wait to see what craziness goes down in the UK between now & May… I think we’ll have a few things to discuss! To be playing my first UK arena show at London’s famous O2 Arena is a real honour & I’m thrilled to be returning to the UK”

Having sold out his stand up shows across five continents, Noah’s appeal has rocketed even further over the past two years, since he took over hosting duties from Jon Stewart on Comedy Central’s US news satire programme The Daily Show, in September 2015.

This September, Noah won his first Emmy® Award, taking home the ‘Best Short Form Variety Series’ prize for the YouTube comedy special ‘The Daily Show: Between the Scenes’. In July, Noah received the ‘Comedy Person of the Year’ award at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival awards show. Earlier in 2017, February saw Noah debut his comedy special, Afraid of the Dark, on Netflix. His first book, Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, was an instant New York Times bestseller when it was released in November 2016.

Noah was the subject of David Paul Meyer's award-winning 2011 documentary film, You Laugh But It’s True, which tells the story of his remarkable career in post-apartheid South Africa. Previous UK television appearances include Live at the Apollo, QI and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
