John Dunsworth, better known as Jim Lahey in the Trailer Park Boys series, has died. He was 71.

Dunsworth’s daughter Sarah posted the news on social media. She wrote, “With heavy and broken hearts the family of John F. Dunsworth would like to let people know that our amazing husband, father and grandfather John Dunsworth has passed away. John left this world peacefully after a short and unexpected illness.”

Dunsworth, originally from Nova Scotia, played drunken character Lahey throughout the show's TV run and also in various films and specials. There is a twelfth series due to be aired on Netflix in the next year.
