News: Australian Comic Films TV Special In UK

Australian comedian Yianni Agisilaou’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe show Pockets Of Equality will be transferring to the small screen in a new TV stand-up special.

The hour-long show for Australian TV network ABC as part of their Next Generation Comedy season will be filmed in London on Saturday 9th September at the Albany Theatre in Deptford.

Pockets of Equality is Yianni’s tenth solo show at the Fringe and was nominated for best comedy at the Perth Fringe 2017 earlier this year.

It came into being after Yianni accidentally wore his girlfriend’s jeans and discovered that even when it comes to pockets, women are far from equal. Deftly navigating the tricky waters of “mansplaining”, Yianni looks at all those little inequalities we might not even notice as he explores society’s double-standards, stereotypes and preposterous expectations.
