News: Barry Award (UK) Winners Announced

The winners of this year's Barry Awards (UK) - the Edinburgh awards voted for by other comedians – have been announced. These awards, also known as the Comedians’ Choice Awards, are not to be confused with the completely separate Barry Awards handed out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Below are the winners and rest of the shortlist (which is ordered alphabetically)

A stranger on the street, Jack Walker, who was asked to give a quote on behalf of Mat Ewins said:

“I don’t know him, can that be the quote?”

The awards are presided over by Gareth Morinan and Barry Ferns.

All the categories were voted on solely by the comedians and comedy performers appearing at the Edinburgh fringe this year – 382 votes were cast in total.
