News: UK Tour for Nerds Including Major London Show

Science comedy phenomenon Festival of the Spoken Nerd have announced a new tour for Autumn 2017 entitled You Can’t Polish A Nerd. The tour starts on September 20 at Parabola Arts, as part of the Cheltenham Comedy Festival and currently finishes with a major London date on November 27 at the Duchess Theatre in London.

The trio of Steve Mould, Helen Arney and Matt Parker will be presenting a Periodic Table of new science, songs and spreadsheets.

Since their last tour the trio has featured on BBC2’s QI, created the experimental comedy show Domestic Science for BBC Radio 4 (already recommissioned for series 2) and played the Hammersmith Apollo with Professor Brian Cox and Robin Ince.

Two thirds of The Nerds, Steve Mould and Helen Arney have also penned their first science comedy book  The Element In The Room: Science-y Stuff Staring You In The Face. This rib-tickling, experiment-fuelled and irreverent adventure explains the elements of science that other books ignore and will be published by Cassell Illustrated (part of the Octopus Publishing Group) in October 2017.

As well as performing their last UK tour to audiences of over 15 kilo-people, selling out a run at the prestigious Soho Theatre and racking up millions of views on YouTube, Festival of the Spoken Nerd have performed at Shakespeare’s Globe, The British Library, TED, The Royal Institution, Latitude and Underbelly Festivals, James Randi’s ‘The Amaz!ng Meeting’ in Las Vegas and headlined the UK’s biggest national science festival: The Big Bang Fair.
