Robin Ince has signed a two-book deal with Atlantic Books. His first book will be entitled I’m a Joke and So Are You and will be published in September 2017.

It is described by his publisher as a "witty and informative" exploration of the human condition in which Ince sets out to discover why he’s made the big choices he has in life, and what makes us who we are.

Atlantic went on says it is a "primer to the brain without the textbooks, this fascinating book will amuse, inform, and give you an invaluable insight into yourself (and Robin), while also treating you to his hilarious musings on the big questions in psychology".

Ince's second book, Happiness Through Science, will "show how thinking scientifically and curiously is not merely pragmatic, it also makes living more delightful" and will take its style of mixing science and humour from the writer's work on Radio 4 series, Infinite Monkey Cage, in blending science and humour. It will be published in Autumn 2018.

On the confirmation of the deal Ince wrote on Facebook: "There is no way out now, my next book has been announced so I better type faster (and think faster too)."
