The eight acts have been announced for the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year Final.

The show, to be compered by Eshaan Akbar, takes place at the Piccadilly Comedy Club on December 30.

The finalists have been picked by the club from acts that have done the club's performance spot that is reserved for a newer or breakthrough comedian in the last year*. They are:

SEAN GORMAN  “His dead pan wit had the audience in stiches”

DIMITRI BAKANOV  “Dark, charming and never far from a quality punchline”

ED NIGHT (formerly Ed Day)  “Clearly one to watch”

ANDY STEDMAN  “Great songs, awesome banter”

NICK ELLERAY  “An engaging stand up with an inventive mind” (unfortunately had to withdraw fromn the final)

DAN AUDRITT “A winning wit”

JON LONG  “Clever gags and witty songs”

BEN POPE  “Original and very funny indeed”

*It is noted that there are no women in the final. Please take that up with the club, not beyondthejoke!
