Preview: Matt Forde Gets Political With Unspun On Dave

Matt Forde Changes Show Title To Goodbye Liz

Update: Labour leadership contender Owen Smith pulled out of his appearance last night and was replaced by Labour MP Alan Johnson...

Matt Forde has been one of the rising stars of political comedy in recent years and now he gets his very own series on Dave. The six-part run of Unspun with Matt Forde will be a weekly hour of chat about the chaotic current state of the nation which will hopefully a few laughs as well as insights.

The show is recorded the day before transmission to give it that all-important topical edge. One of the guests in the first show is Labour leadership hopeful Owen Smith. Future guests include Ruth Davidson, Chuka Umumma and Angus Davidson.

Comedians Andy Zaltzman, Simon Evans, Al Green, Ayesha Hazarika and Francesco De Carlo will also be chipping in. Could this finally be the UK's answer the The Daily Show? There's only one way to find out. Watch it on Wednesday. Or - two ways I suppose - you could always read our review on Thursday.

Unspun with Matt Forde, Wednesdays from September 14, Dave, 10pm.
