News: The Comedian's Guide To Survival To Debut At Just For Laughs

The Comedian's Guide To Survival, the new film based on the early years of UK stand-up James Mullinger and starring James Buckley, is to get its world premiere at Just For Laughs in Montreal this July.

Writing on his Facebook page to confirm that the preview of the film directed by Mark Murphy will be on July 29 Mullinger added: "The other big movie being unveiled at the festival is Seth Rogen's latest so we are jumping for joy at the moment. Some of the scenes with Mike Ward, Jimmy Carr, Omid Djalili, Mike Wilmot, Pete Zedlacher and Derek Seguin were shot at the festival last year and the premise was conceived by Mark at the festival about five years ago so this feels wonderfully fitting. We are really proud of the film (which is very funny even though parts are tough for me to watch as they accurately depict the hell I went through in my formative comedy years).

It is also apt that the screening is in Canada as Mullinger relocated there himself from the UK and recently broke the record for the largest-ever comedy gig at the Harbour Station stadium arena in Saint John where he moved to two years ago. The preview will be followed by a Q&A with Murphy, Ward and Mullinger.

The film also stars MyAnna Buring and Paul Kaye features a number of comedians including Carly Smallman, Maff Brown, Luisa Omielan and Richard Sandling.
