News: Paul Daniels Has Brain Tumour

Magician Paul Daniels has been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

His publicist has issued a statement regarding the 77-year-old entertainer. "We can confirm that one of our greatest magicians and entertainers of all times, Paul Daniels, has sadly been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

"On behalf of Paul, Debbie and their families, we thank you for your kind concerns and support at this sad time and ask that their privacy continues to be respected. There will be no further comments at this time."

Daniels, whose real name is  Newton Edward Daniels is married to Debbie McGee. He became a TV favourite in the 1980s and was best known for his catchphrase "You'll like this...not a lot." 

As well as fronting magic shows, he has presented game shows including Wipeout and Odd One Out and more recently performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2010, he appeared on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
