It looks as if actor/comedian Peter Serafinowicz may finally be getting close to making a sitcom based on his hapless, overweight businessman Brian Butterfield.

Speaking to website The AV Club Serafinowicz explained the genesis and development of the character and expanded on recent developments. He has been trying to do a Butterfield sitcom for a number of years and revealed that there were plans afoot for him to return: "Our joke was that by the time it happened I wouldn’t need any makeup. A substantial saving! Perhaps the TV companies were playing the long game. However, we’ve been commissioned by the BBC to write two scripts, and we’re performing one in front of an audience next month. I’ll be in full makeup for that. It’ll be nice to get back inside him again."
