6. What do your parents think of your job?

My mum is beside herself with pride whenever she sees me on the telly.

7. What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?

Trying to convince my mum that Boris Johnson is actually me.

8. I think you are very good at what you do (that’s why I’m asking these questions). What do you think of you?

On a bad day, quietly ashamed that my sense of self-worth relies upon a roomful of strangers seeming to like me; on a good day, that the comedy jigsaw is incomplete until the 'Kelly Kingham' shaped piece is in its place. Bad days seem to come naturally; good days take a little more work.  

9. How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?

I’m well into six figures a year now (unfortunately two of them are after the decimal point). 

10. How important is luck in terms of career success – have you had lucky breaks?

Being in the ‘right place at the right time’ or finding someone of influence who really believes in you can definitely make a big difference. Looking back I realise I’ve actually had quite a few lucky breaks; sometimes by getting what I wanted but more often by failing to do so.

11. Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories - golfers and self-harmers. The former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. Which are you – or do you think you fit into a third category?

I tend towards the self-harming type but I’m determined to become less self-centered so I’ve started harming others whenever I can.

12. Who is your favourite person ever and why - not including family or friends or other comedians?

Noah; because he saved all the animals on the Ark (except for the dinosaurs who were far too busy eating the Unicorns). And the moral of this story is, never ever be late for a gig - or indeed, a Unicorn.   

13. Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why on earth not?

I keep all of my comedy awards in my drawer - it is currently a lot tidier than I would like it to be.
