Edinburgh Preview: Paul Sinha

Paul sinha

As we’ve explained previously comedian Luke Toulson took the problem of getting preview slots by the scruff of the neck and set up his own comedy night on Wednesdays at Crack Comedy. He has been previewing his own show and has also had some fantastic guests previewing theirs. This week is no exception as Paul Sinha is in the house. Sinha is very much a man of many parts. The former GP is probably best known these days as the Sinnerman on ITV1’s The Chase – he has been a general knowledge obssesive for years – but his true calling is stand-up comedy. In 2006 his solo show Saint or Sinha was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award. His lightning-fast mind helps him out on quizzes and also onstage where his comic stories fly thick and fast. He doesn’t do Edinburgh regularly but makes a welcome return this year with Postcards from the Z List, in which he talks about his weird kind of semi-fame, the responsibilities of being an uncle and finally being in a serious relationship. The term comedian’s comedian is bandied about a bit too freely these days, but you can definitely apply it to Sinha. No question.

Paul Sinha is at Crack Comedy tonight with Luke Toulson, tickets here, and at The Stand from Aug 5 - 30, tickets here.
