Written by and arising from the wonderfully absurd imagination of award-winning comedian Harry Hill comes ‘THE JILLON’ - a gloriously dark comedy starring Richard Ayoade, Richard Syms, Flip Webster, Kevin Eldon and Cosmo Wellings, about an elderly couple, an impossible dream and a most unexpected addition to the family.
At 86, Jill Browning (Flip Webster) has everything she needs for a quiet retirement, except the one thing she's always wanted: a baby. Her husband John (Richard Syms) thinks she's lost her mind, but Jill isn't taking no for an answer. Armed with a little modern medicine, a prayer to the patron saint of fertility and a determination that defies both nature and common sense, she sets out to make her dream come true.
And then, one morning, something extraordinary arrives on their doorstep.
‘The Jillon’ is a gloriously absurd, darkly comic and unexpectedly touching tale of late-life parenthood, unconditional love and the dangers of getting exactly what you wish for. Blending surreal comedy, a touch of the supernatural and a surprising amount of heart, ‘The Jillon’ explores how far a mother's love can stretch and what happens when nature gets a little help.
Harry Hill said: “I wrote a full length film about a very old couple who conceive a child but it turns out kinda weird . Everyone looked at me like I was mad so Baby Cow said let’s make a short taster to show them what i mean. This is it. See what I mean ?…”
‘The Jillon’ is written by Harry Hill, directed by Arthur Studholme and produced by Rupert Majendie and Andrew Harvey.
