Connor Burns Wins Forth Award

Connor Burns Wins Forth Award

Comedian Connor Burns has won an award for local heroes celebrating the best of Edinburgh and the East of Scotland. Other winners of the Forth Award this year, chosen by radio listeners, include Amy Macdonald, Wet Wet Wet and Claire Richards of Steps. Burns performed at the Usher Hall where the ceremony took place and instantly won over the packed house.

He said: "I can't believe it. It’s such an honour to know it was voted for by the listeners. Forth 1 have always looked after me as they do with new talent. This is my first award. I’m a many time runner up, so I’ve finally got something to hang on my wall!”

Burns, who lives in Edinburgh, sold out all of his shows at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer at the Just the Tonic Nucleus venue including extra dates added due to demand and is currently on a major tour, taking his latest show GALLUS on the road.

He is one of the rising stars of the comedy scene, with a talent for smart, accessible humour, armed with cutting one-liners, high-velocity punchlines, and insights into modern life. He has supported Daniel Sloss on three continents, closed the Sydney Comedy Festival Gala at the iconic Opera House.

He has recently returned from New York where he was asked back to be part of the New York Comedy Festival and the Fringe Encore series. He did so well last year they invited him back so he’s done it in 2024 and 2025.

Connor’s stand up special Vertigo was released in July on the prestigious 800LB Gorilla comedy label.
