Following her run at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer, Live At The Apollo star Celya AB is set to bring her new show Of All People on tour early next year, beginning with a five-day residency at London’s Soho Theatre (21st - 25th January). Early-access tickets can be purchased this Wednesday, before general sale begins on Friday.
Of All People is Celya’s most personal show yet: after multiple sell-out tours and barnstorming appearances at JFL Montreal and Melbourne ICF, “one of the most gifted joke writers of our age” (★★★★ Chortle) turns her gaze inward to tackle the big three: beauty, money and the void. Both hilarious and deeply human, this show sees Celya blend her razor-sharp absurdity with refreshing emotional honesty, cementing her as one of the most exciting and original voices in stand-up comedy today.
Also contains hot takes on judges, toothpaste and the sexiest thing anyone can do on a date.
Celya AB was born and brought up in Paris before moving to Birmingham in 2014, where she discovered stand-up in 2017. In 2019 she won the Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award and was also a finalist in the Funny Women Awards. Her Edinburgh Fringe debut Swimming and sophomore show Second Rodeo were critically acclaimed and both transferred to Soho Theatre in London, and Second Rodeo embarked on a sell-out tour of the UK earlier this year. She won Chortle’s Best Newcomer Award in 2022, was selected as one of Just For Laughs New Faces in 2023, and has appeared on the BBC, Comedy Central, Off Menu podcast and The Guilty Feminist podcast. She also supported Maria Bamford and St. Vincent on tour.
