West End New Act Of the Year Finalists Announced

the finalists have been announced for this year's West End New Act of the Year. 

Over 300 comedians applied for around 100 spots. After many rounds of comedy the list has been whittled down to..
 
The final will take place at 7.30pm on Monday April 8th at the Albany in Great Portland Street, with acts performing 5 minute sets. Judges and audience members will then determine the winners. The judges on the night will be; Ali Warwood, promoter of Commoner's Comedy, Matt Arnold, promoter of Dulwich Hamlet Comedy and Clara Heimerdinger, promoter of Nice and Spiky comedy. Steve McLean will MC the event and Hatty Ashdown is our special guest headliner. 
 
The competition also hosts a 'One to Watch' award for acts who did very well and are tipped for future success. Please congratulate Fred Bell, Matt Withers, Laura Gomez, Salma Lyons and Harry Legge,
 
The West End New Act of the Year was set up to give a profile boost to the new acts whose development was derailed during the pandemic. The winner will receive a small cash prize, spots on pro-bills with Dulwich Hamlet Comedy and AComedy in Essex plus all finalists will be offered stage time at the Edinburgh Fringe showcase show in the Voodoo Rooms.
