Special Comic Strip Screening And Talk With Peter Richardson Hosted By Richard Herring

Peter Richardson, Jennifer Saunders And Stephen Mangan are set to appear at a special screening of two Comic Strip films in March.

The screenings of The Hunt for Tony Blair and GLC The Carnage Continues will take place in London at Picturehouse Central on March 23. They will be followed by a Q&A featuring comic Strip founder Richardson, Jennifer Saunders and Stephen Mangan.

In The Hunt for Tony Blair (2011) Prime Minister Tony Blair (Stephen Mangan) goes on the run to prove his innocence. With the net closing in he hides out with another famous Prime Minister, Margret Thatcher (Jennifer Saunders). Also starring Robbie Coltrane, Harry Enfield, Rik Mayall and Nigel Planer, it was nominated for BAFTA and British Comedy Award.
 
GLC The Carnage Continues (1990) is a Hollywood-style send-up of British politics with Robbie Coltrane playing ‘Charles Bronson‘ as London mayor Ken Livingstone, in a Western style siege of County Hall. The film also features Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson and Peter Richardson as Lee Van Cleef. The soundtrack features Kate Bush. Richardson directed and co-wrote this with Pete Richens.
