The Silver Stand-Up competition returned to the Leicester Comedy Festival on Tuesday 20th February 2024, where Kevin Daniel, was crowned winner!

The Silver Stand-Up competition is an annual comedy contest, open to any comic, established or up-and-coming over the age of 55, it was launched in 2012 and has now been one of the highlights of the festival for over ten years. 

Hosted by Mrs Barbara Nice, this year’s contestants Gary Edwards, Georgia Apsion, Johnny Murph, Jurgen Strack, Kevin Daniel, Mark Ahier, Rolan Ghent and Our Trace competed in the final to claim the coveted prize of £500.

The winner, Kevin says: “I am so happy and more than a little stunned to have been crowned Leicester Comedy Festival 2024 Silver Stand Up Champion” It was such a great night. The audience were so lovely and supportive and the other acts were all brilliant, so to win it was a real surprise”

The winner was selected by a panel of judges.
