Richard Osman's House of Games Line Up This Week

Richard Osman's house of Games Line Up

Clive Anderson, Sara Davies, Lutalo Muhammad and Alison Spittle take part in this week's run of Richard Osman's House of Games.

Alison Spittle is quirky, upfront comic who is becoming a pretty big star in Ireland where she grew up. Spittle is now based in London and is due to tour in 2024. She is also a playwright and her second play is due to open at the end of 2023.

Podcast fans may know here for her BBC podcast Wheel Of Misfortune, about humiliating incidents in listeners' lives. She originally co-hosted it with Fern Brady and then with Kerry Katona.

In the first show Spittle absolutely trounced the oppiosition, who in some of the rounds barely got a look in. She is sharp, funny and also clearly determined to win House of Games. I would certainly not bet against her and even Richard Osman noted at the very start that she is sitting in the comedians' chair on the far right where a lot of past winners have sat. update - Clive Anderson nicked a win on the second night so Spittle may not have things as easy as it first seemed...

Clive Anderson and Alison Spittle are two comedians from different comedy generations. You could easily imagine Anderson hosting House of Games in his younger days or even now if Richard Osman fancied a break or some time off to write another best seller. He has been a regular TV face for over thirty years, most famously with his Friday night Chat Show Clive Andersonm Talks Back where he indulged in quickfire banter with his guests - although sometimes it backfried, most famously when the Bee Gees decided to walk off mid-chat.

Go back a bit further and Anderson was one of the first stand-ups to play The Comedy Store in Soho when the alternative comedy book started in 1879. He was there alongside Sandi Toksvig, Simon McBurney, Arnold Brown and the others who went on to great TV fame - Mayall, Edmondson, Sayle, French and Saunders and co. These days he is probably best known for hosting the Radio 4 magqazine Loose Ends.

Taking on Anderson and Spittle for those delicious prizes are Dragon's Den entrepreneur Sara Davies and Lutalo Muhammad, the  British taekwondo athlete who represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics,
