Tour Dates For Dan Tiernan

Tour Dates For Dan Tiernan

Following the success of his sold-out Fringe run, which had extra shows added due to phenomenal demand, and an Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2023 Best Newcomer nomination, comedian Dan Tiernan is set to embark on his debut UK tour with his critically-acclaimed hour ‘Going Under’ from Wednesday 10th January 2024. This includes a run at London’s Soho Theatre and a special one-off show at the iconic Leicester Square Theatre, as well as shows in Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Tickets are on sale now.

He's 27, gay and riddled with dyspraxia. Dan's had a big year, processing his younger sister’s cancer diagnosis, quitting his job as a dinner lady, going full-time in comedy, and finally moving out of his parents’ Manchester home. Yet despite this newfound independence (and freedom to smoke weed whenever he wants), he somehow still feels that he's going under. Exploring everything from being desperately single to competing with his successful stepsister, and asking the poignant questions: What would happen if a dog got high? How much military precision is needed to feed a rowdy group of Year 5’s? And why has his tattoo-averse Mum suddenly had a change of heart? Expect a gag-heavy, high-energy debut hour from the UK’s biggest rising star in comedy.

Fresh from winning the BBC New Comedy and British Comedian of the Year awards, Dan Tiernan’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut hour ‘Going Under’ gained him an Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2023 Best Newcomer nomination and the (ISH) Comedy Awards Best Newcomer accolade. The entire run, which started early on 31st July, completely sold out and had extra shows added due to popular demand, with notable audience members including Edgar Wright, Jamie Demetriou, Rose Matafeo and Daniel Kitson. On TV, he has appeared on Rosie Jones’s Disability Comedy Extravaganza (Dave), BBC New Comedy Awards (BBC), Comedians Selling Jokes to Gordon Ramsey (BBC), Jokes Only A… Can Tell (Channel 4),  Hard Sell (Dave), and is set to appear on QI (BBC), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2) and a BBC Radio 4 special this Autumn. As an actor, he made his debut on Doctors (BBC One) this year, joining a list of notable guest stars including Phoebe Waller Bridge, Claire Foy, Nicholas Holt and Eddie Redmayne. He also currently has a sitcom in development.

Dan has performed as tour support for comedians Micky Flanagan, Fern Brady, Jamali Maddix and Fin Taylor and runs his own comedy clubs in Manchester: Jokes at the Oaks and Roast at the Oaks.

Further accolades include winner of the North West Comedy Awards Breakthrough Act of the Year 2021, Edinburgh Fringe’s SAM LGBT Award 2021, West Didsbury Comedy Festival New Comedian of the Year 2021 and Frog and Bucket’s Beat The Frog World Series 2020, as well as finalist for Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2021, Bath Comedy Festival New Act of the Year 2021, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2021, and nominee for Chortle Awards Best Newcomer 2022.
