Crowdfunder Set Up For Comic Involved In Car Incident

On August 2nd comedian Tony Cowards was involved in a shocking incident on the way home from a gig when a young man who wanted to end his life jumped out in the road in front of Cowards' car.

Luckily Cowards is a careful driver and the young lad is going to make a full recovery.

Sadly, Tony's car has not been so lucky. It looks like it's getting written off, which comes with a massive expense. The car is currently impounded in Wakefield, incurring charges and is 80 miles away from home. Unfortunately, the insurance company won't cover this, and as the accident was involving a pedestrian, there is no insurance to counterclaim on, although Cowards is trying to pursue through the MIB (motor insurance bureau). Further costs are already mounting up.

As a pro circuit comedian, Tony relies on his car to work and travel to and from gigs, and currently this is impossible to sustain without transport.

Cowards is also dealing with having to process being involved in this traumatic incident.

A crowdfunding page has been set up by his partner Sarah to try and get him back on the road and help absorb some of the costs and give him one less major stress to have to worry about.

There are more details on Tony's facebook OP.

If you can help Tony get back on the road please donate here.
