Sheffield Stand-Up Co-Writes German Eurovision Entry

There has been talk in the past about Bill Bailey entering the Eurovision Song Contest to give the UK a chance of winning. But another comedian has got there first. Sort of.

Sheffield stand-up Anthony J Brown has co-written the lyrics to Germany’s entry, ‘Blood & Glitter’ to be performed in Liverpool on Saturday, May 13, by Lord Of The Lost (a band from Hamburg).

Brown is not new to music. He has been writing lyrics for German acts since 2012 and has contributed lyrics to various releases that have made the German Top Ten. He has already had a number 1 this year with the Lord Of The Lost.

Brown will be attending the event in Liverpool on Saturday 13th May.

As a stand-up he is a former BBC New Comedy Award runner- up, a Jongleurs/Metro 'Spike Award’ winner and was in an episode of Phoenix Nights. As well as performing on the circuit he also run several clubs including Cast Comedy Club at Cast in Doncaster, Comedy Cellar at Lawrence Batley Theatre Calder Vale Hotel in Horbury.
