Triple Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee Larry Dean’s debut special of his critically-acclaimed hour ‘Fandan’ is set to be released on 9th February 2023. Produced and distributed by 800 Pound Gorilla Media, the special will be available to watch via on demand platform Moment.
Filmed in his hometown of Glasgow, Larry takes you through his attempt to win friends via a bank robbery, getting tea with murderers and memorable misdemeanours in a Dubai hotel room. Never afraid to go into too much detail, Larry journeys through ghosting, battling being the disorganised one in relationships and announcing his sexuality with a bang, all in a proudly Scottish voice.
Having amassed over 50 million views across social media, Larry Dean is an award-winning comedian and writer. His career has seen a stratospheric rise since he was crowned Scottish Comedian Of The Year at just 23. ‘Out Now!’ and ‘Farcissist’, his 2015 and 2017 Edinburgh Fringe shows, received nominations for the prestigious Foster’s Comedy Award for Best Newcomer and Amused Moose Comedy Award for Best Show respectively. His 2018 show, ‘Bampot’, was then nominated for the biggest award at the Fringe: the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show.
Larry has performed across the UK and Ireland, as well as internationally as a regular at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Christchurch Buskers Festival, Perth Fringeworld and the invitation-only Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Larry is currently on tour with his brand-new show: Fudnut, which saw enormous success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year and was nominated for Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2022 for Best Show.
On TV, Larry has appeared on programmes such as BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Comedy Central UK’s Roast Battle and Guessable, plus ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show. Larry has also performed twice on BBC Two’s hit stand-up show Live At The Apollo, along with BBC One’s Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and BBC Scotland’s A Night At The Theatre.
