Tour For John Hastings

Tour For John Hastings

John Hastings is taking his latest show Do You Have Any Ointment My John Hastings? on his first ever UK tour.

2019 was a curve ball for most people but for John, he’s been firmly punched in the balls of life almost as though he broke a row mirrors with a black cat. Since leaving the UK for Los Angeles; through covid he has gone through a divorce with wife, having his arm potentially amputated, his best friend dying and a true coming of age moment, by shitting his own pants.

At 37 years old, John has been through a lot!  He has had various diagnosis of mental health (and is currently living with PTSD which he took up skateboarding to deal with)after 18 months before nearly dying in a bicycle accident and close to losing his left arm. He was given emergency surgery on his shoulder with the elbow having been diagnosed with bone death, which could have resulted in his arm dying. He now has wires holding both elbows and his left has 6 screws in it and this the second time! He managed to break both elbows 3 years apart. Officially dyspraxic, John has the scars to prove it.

Worse still, on the flight to his best friend’s funeral British Airways dumped his meal on him and moved him to a middle seat and, because of his injuries, he sat covered in curry for 6 hours. At the funeral they forgot to ask the person they wanted to speak so he did an improvised speech to say goodbye.  And while he was there all his bank accounts were frozen… Not unlucky enough for you? Hold my beer. He got bed bugs the day before he filmed a stand-up special for Mormons and was accused of fraud by the state of California because of a misreading of an online form by one state official. Just as well weed is now legal in L.A.

Have You Got Any Ointment is a testament to the resilience of life struggles in John’s most emotive and revealing show to date. But also one that brings light in the darkest hours from one of the most skilled raconteurs and stage performers from the circuit. And ultimately; funny to the bone.

John is also a regular favourite at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he sold out his whole run adding extra shows. John has also appeared on Comedy Central, BBC 3 and Radio 4. And has a stand-up comedy special coming out in America on Drybar.

A wrestling aficionado, he hosts a wrestling podcast called the ‘Wrestler Review’ and a daily twitch “IRL” stream called the ‘Untitled Twitch Stream’ https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-untitled-twitch-stream-podcast/id1582847773

UK dates start on February 19, 2023 in Edinburgh. Tickets and details here.
