Richard Osman's House of Games: Champions Guests This Week Including Ingrid Oliver and Tom Rosenthal

Particularly interesting line up on House of Games this week with a strong comedy contingent. It's Yasmine Akram, Stephen Mangan, Ingrid Oliver and Tom Rosenthal. Richard Osman as it happens, is engaged to Ingrid Oliver. Is this the first time a presenter on a quiz has been in a relationship with one of the contestants?

Comedy fans may remember Ingrid Oliver from the double act Watson and Oliver. For a while they were tagged with the "new French and Saunders" brush and deserved more success. More recently Oliver has appeared in Doctor Who.

Osman and Oliver were platonic friends for a while and their relationship blossomed during lockdown. They have not talked about it in any depth on social media although there was an exchange about a cat and a fox in the garden a while ago. They are also due to appear together on the new series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

Oliver tweeted: "On HoG Champion of Champions this week. Starts tonight at 6pm. Last time I was on the show, I won a fiancé."

Stephen Mangan also has a strong comedy background, having made his name as one of the medics in groundbreaking Channel 4 comedy Green Wing. He played the character that was said to resemble the donkey in the original Shrek movie.

Tom Rosenthal is an award-winning stand-up but is best known as one of the stars of ITV1's period sitcom Plebs, which is due to bow out soon with a feature-length episode.

And Yasmine Akram is an Irish-Pakistani actress, writer and comedian. She has written comedy sketches for the BBC and Channel 4, and played Janine Hawkins in the third series of Sherlock.

Who will win? It's a pretty level playing field with four strong contestants this week. It could be anyone, but it could be a bit awkward at home if Oliver doesn't end up with something with Richard Osman's face on it!
