Mo Gilligan Leads I Talk Telly Awards 2022 Nominations

Mo Gilligan Leads I Talk Telly Awards 2022 Nominations

Since launching in 2015, the I Talk Telly Awards, created and organised by I Talk Telly Founder Elliot Gonzalez, have seen 1.5m votes registered, with 900,000 votes in the last two years.

Returning for their 8th year, the awards recognise programmes and talent across television comedy, drama, entertainment and soaps and now you get the chance to support your favourites across 23 categories, with voting open until 10pm GMT on Wednesday 23rd November 2022.

Mo Gilligan leads this year's nominations with five; two for The Lateish Show (Best Entertainment Show and Best TV Presenter), two for The Big Breakfast (Best Daytime Show and Best TV Presenting Partnership) and Best Entertainment Show for The Masked Singer.

Not far behind, are Ant & Dec with four nominations in Best TV Presenting Partnership, Best Entertainment Show, Best Reality TV Show and Best Talent Show and Ruth Madeley with three nominations in Best Single Drama, Best Dramatic Performance and Best Documentary.

New comedies Am I Being Unreasonable? and Big Boys sit alongside the fourth series of Ghosts with three nominations each. And in the soap categories, EastEnders leads with nine nominations, ahead of Coronation Street and Hollyoaks with seven, and Emmerdale with five.

BBC One lead the nominations for comedy and drama with ITV and Channel 4 (main channels) leading the nominations for entertainment, with fourteen each.

Last year's big winners included Ant & Dec, Coronation Street, David Tennant & Michael Sheen, Gogglebox, Joel Dommett, Rosie Jones, Russell T Davies and Stephen Merchant and you can watch their acceptance speeches, here

Once again all nominations have been decided by I Talk Telly Founder Elliot Gonzalez, with each and every winner decided by the voting public.

Speaking about this year’s awards, Elliot Gonzalez said “It's incredible to have seen these awards, which I nervously began in 2015, taking off in the way they have. Their popularity is far beyond anything I could ever have dreamed and it's really heartwarming to see the support they receive from fans and talent alike."

"These awards are for telly fans. It's their chance to support their favourites and I think that's why talent go out of their way to get involved."

"It's been another incredible year of television and the job of narrowing the nominations down starts the moment the awards the previous year finish and I'm still changing my mind right up to 24 hours before the vote opens. Good job I don't have to decide on the eventual winner! I like to leave that to the public who always get it right."

With voting now open, the winners will be announced at 10am GMT on Sunday 4th December.
