Shame is Delicious is the brand new podcast from comedians Darren Harriott and Eshaan Akbar and it’s out today. In it the pair of friends/enemies (topic very much dependant) delight in their own shame, that of others and the lives and decisions of the truly shameless. We all enjoy stories of glorious failures and other people’s embarrassment, and this is a chance to hear – and laugh about- some of the worst available, from toe-curling first meetings to accidental illegality, nothing is off limits.
We all talk about being ashamed, but still laugh at others’ shameful behaviour, and this podcast is a place to take joy in doing both. We hear what truly shameful things Darren and Eshaan have done and, because they’ve often both been there, we get both sides of the story. Darren said: “I wanted to do a podcast because it’s very unusual…”, Eshaan added “I love doing something different…”.

Double Edinburgh Award nominee Darren Harriott’s TV credits include Love Island, Aftersun, Britain’s Best Takeaway with Sara Cox, British as Folk, host of Live at the Apollo and Dog Ate My Homework, team captain on Guessable and series regular on Don’t Hate the Playaz. He’s also on this year’s Dancing on Ice.
Darren made Black Label for Radio 4 covering his time as a teenager in gangs, and Red Label. He has hosted Newsjack Unplugged and the Radio 4 Summer Festival.
His debut Edinburgh show Defiant transferred to The Melbourne Festival and The Soho Theatre, he toured the UK in 2018 with Visceral, and in 2019/20 with Good Heart Yute.
Eshaan Akbar has appeared on Mock the Week, QI (the first person of Bangladeshi heritage on either), The Now Show, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, The Big Asian Stand Up Night, Sunday Morning Live, A Pie and a Pint, and many more.
He’s the host of the BBC Podcast But Where Are You Really From and the European award winning Nine Twenty Nine podcast from Fiverr. He’s hosted his own shows on the BBC Asian Network and LoveSport and made many appearances across other networks.
He has performed three sell out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe – Not for Prophet (2017), Prophet Like it’s Hot (2018), and Infidel-ity (2019) as well as sell out London runs at Soho Theatre.
